Afrika Bambaataa Abuse Allegation

Jordan Yerman, Senior Copywriter

Afrika Bambaataa & The Soul Sonic Force – “Planet Rock”
The sound of a flying saucer landing in the middle of a house party. The sound of hip hop’s origins.

The Pogues ft. Kirsty MacColl – “Fairytale of New York”
The only Christmas song that matters. Dark, funny, and evocative, this track harnesses the raw storytelling powers of Kirsty MacColl, who’s gone too soon; and Shane Macgowan, who—against all odds—is still with us.

John Cage – “4’33″”
You’re not hearing nothing. You’re hearing something. What exactly are you hearing? Be present for “4’33”.”

Queen Freddie Mercury E1545169471798 1024x755

Helga Neumer, Senior Marketing Manager

Queen ft. David Bowie – “Under Pressure”
I saw the movie Bohemian Rhapsody recently.

Disturbed – “The Sound of Silence”
My current favourite ballad. It’s a good alternative to all these Christmas songs you currently hear everywhere.

Otis Redding – “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay”
While thinking about favorite songs, I just remembered this one, which was my favorite for years.

Ariana Grande – “Imagine”
Never thought I’d end the year as an Ariana Grande fan, but here we are. “Imagine” is lush and beautiful, with alluring production and angelic harmonies. What’s not to like?

Blood Orange – “Saint”
I haven’t given Blood Orange’s latest albums enough listens, but “Saint” is a clear highlight. I guess I can make “Listen to more Blood Orange” a New Year’s Resolution.

Tyler, the Creator ft. Ryan Beatty – “When Gloves Come Off”
Look, do I think we need another Grinch movie? No. But if Tyler, the Creator is overseeing the music, then I’m all in. Here’s a little Christmas music without it being too Christmassy.

Dan Mangan – “Fool for Waiting”
I’ve never been a huge Dan fan, but his voice and the subtleties on this one are hauntingly beautiful. It’s all nostalgia and bittersweet love.

Frank Sinatra – “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”
Christmas tunes. Egg nog and decorating.
