Describe a recent challenge that you overcame.
Dealing with a global pandemic.
What kinds of changes do you foresee in this industry within the industry in the next year? The next 5 years?
Consolidation of current players, but expansion of namespace options. Game-changing AI-enhanced and embedded innovation will greatly speed up the enrichment of certain players, and speed the demise of the weakest.
What are the current trends that are directly impacting your business?
Increasing need for registries to be able to visualize and *act* on the firehose of incoming domain data. Increased awareness of DNS abuse by the industry and the desire to work together to fight the bad actors.
What fact about you would surprise people?
I was the first violinist in the Houston Junior Symphony. I met a former US President while naked. I was banned from a sushi restaurant for eating only the fish, but not the rice.
What are you most proud of?
I am the parallel parking KING.
What was the best advice you were ever given?
Don’t be greedy.
What’s the most recent thing you learned (big or small)?
Democracy is fragile.
What are you most looking forward to at the upcoming NamesCon?
Connecting in-person with industry friends and meeting new ones after the unfortunate two-year pause, and as a native Texan welcoming everyone to our beautiful capital of the Lone Star State.
