Describe your company and how long you have been there.
Dot Media Labs is a domain investment company focusing on the wine business. The company is a mere one year old.
Can you tell us about your last time at NamesCon and what you got out of it?
NamesCon is always a great resource for connecting both industry veterans and industry newcomers. The people in attendance offer a valuable range of skills and services. The spirit of the conference is of knowledge and business development.
NamesCon is all about business networking. Can you tell us a story about the success of a meeting at NamesCon?
Simple story. Drinks lead to domain name sales. All were pleased and a friendship was born.
Can you tell us about how your service or product helps deliver value to your customers?
As the company is oriented to service the wine industry, my experience as a winemaker helps clients in sourcing names valuable to the various branding possibilities the market has to offer.
What are your thoughts on the new TLDs?
We love the new TLDs. They provide such a great resource for sales and marketing opportunities.
What kinds of changes do you foresee within the industry in the next year? 5 years?
A greater adoption of new TLDs in the wild.
What are you most looking forward to at the upcoming NamesCon?
Connecting with old friends in person. I am also looking forward to connecting to new business relationships.
What fact about you would surprise people?
The blend of experience I have had over the years. Am I a winemaker, a banker, a domain investor, or simply a writer? Reach out, and find out for yourself.
What was one of your biggest “Aha!” moments in life?
Taking a breather and traveling with family globally for many months. I developed a deep appreciation for the differences in the world.
How does your career compare to what you envisioned in your youth?
I have accomplished many of my goals, which is why I enjoy adding new goals to the list.
What are you proudest of in your life?
I am a good Dad.
What was the best advice you were ever given?
Enter into a position of ownership only when your desire to affect change is limited by your position.
