Q&A

Describe your company and how long you have been there?
Bodis helps domain owners, registrars and hosting providers monetise, manage and sell their domain inventory. In fact we recently improved our Escrow.com integration to further improve the sales channel. I joined Bodis in September 2015 having previously worked within the industry for over 7 years.

Can you tell us about how your service or product helps deliver value to your customers?
When dealing with Bodis you can be sure we are acting in the best interests of your portfolio. We do not simply do what is best for us, the parking company, we build long term business relationships founded on trust. We are there when you need us and guarantee a response to all support tickets within 24 hours.

What are your thoughts on the new TLDs?
Whilst I believe some TLDs can sell themselves, .club being a perfect example, more should be done by others to differentiate themselves beyond the TLD and stimulate growth. For example: Providing the tools to build a business from A to Z, registration, hosting, development, design.

What kinds of changes to you foresee within the industry in the next year? 5 years?
I actually see revenues for domain owners increasing long term, with greater, more varied monetisation channels.

What are you most looking forward to at the upcoming NamesCon?
The highlight of any conference for me is meeting clients both old and new. Putting faces to the names and building friendships. I will be on hand at the Bodis booth, so please do swing by and say hi!

What industry trends or topics do you think will be at the forefront of panel and keynote discussions this year?
How to tap into the unprecedented growth in the Chinese domain aftermarket.

What was one of your biggest “Aha!” moments in life?
When I drop caught my 1st “traffic” domain.

How does your career compare to what you envisioned in your youth?
From a young age I always knew I wanted to “work with computers”, however it wasn’t until I was introduced to domains in 2006 that I knew this was the industry for me.

If you had fifteen extra minutes each day, what would you do with them?
Save them up and gift every terminally ill person in this world extra time with their loved ones.

What’s the most recent thing you learned (big or small)?
I recently sat my final exams for my Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Marketing.

What are you proudest of in your life?
Becoming a father for the 1st time, my daughter means the world to me.

Latest and greatest accomplishment in your career?
Working for Bodis.com . Knowing what we have planned for the future, I am incredibly motivated and excited to be working here.

Name 3 things you can’t travel without.
iPhone, iPad, headphones.

Where is your favourite place to escape?
The Seychelles.

What was the best advice you were ever given?
Never let anyone tell you that you cannot do something.

What object would you put in a time capsule that best represents who you are today?
A smiley face – Because for the first time in 10 years I am truly happy both personally and professionally.
