Q&A

Can you tell us about your last time at NamesCon and what you got out of it?

I have attended DomainFest in Macau which is associated with NamesCon. This will be my first visit to NamesCon. Business is all about networking and building long-lasting relationships. It’s a hard road but it’s a solid once once established.

What are your thoughts on the new TLDs?

Like with every other business, there is a hype at the early stages, which has been the case with gTLDs. Many of the extensions will not be around in 4-5 years; most of them will soon be history. Those who stay will be there for a longer period of time. Even if people start adopting them, it will not be on a mass scale. Good combination of words will stick around.

What kinds of changes do you foresee within the industry in the next year? 5 years?

Short names will become more valuable, there will be a sustainable market for liquid names, more marketplaces will open, and more players will appear. Only time will tell who ends up sticking around.

What are you most looking forward to at the upcoming NamesCon?

My top priority will be to let people know that “I” exist. Second priority will be to keep building relationships and establish myself in the industry.

What was one of your biggest “Aha!” moments in life?

It has yet to come!

How does your career compare to what you envisioned in your youth?

No boss and no timetables; I happily work from home. I really enjoy my life; it was my dream and I’m living it.

How would you describe what you do in a single sentence to a stranger?

It’s like real estate, but I buy and sell names.

If you had fifteen extra minutes each day, what would you do with them?

I have never felt that I needed more time in a day. 24 Hours is good enough for me!

What’s the most recent thing you learned (big or small)?

Patience is the key. I knew it before, but 2016 taught me that lesson again (quite harshly).

Who has been the biggest influence on your life? What lessons did that person teach you?

“The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. That book has changed my life. It taught me to “follow your dreams.”

What are you proudest of in your life?

My family.

What was the best surprise you’ve experienced so far in life?

Nothing has surprised me so far.

Name 3 things you can’t travel without.

Mobile phone, mobile phone and mobile phone.

Where is your favourite place to escape?

Anywhere with a mountain and a cold breeze.
