We Built New School Libraries in Kenya

NamesCon is all about education, and the domaining community has the chance to become education champions for a generation of kids whose futures are at risk. Our friends at Entrepreneurs for Knowledge specialize in building and renovating schools in the most disadvantaged regions in the world, and the NamesCon community always step up to help. This is our latest success story!

All funds raised will be distributed with complete transparency—and 100% of the donations will directly reach the project the NamesCon community chooses to support.

Each of these projects constitutes around 0.09% of the cost of a flight on Jeff Bezos’ space jet. If each attendee donates what they would have spent at the bar at NamesCon (just in the first two nights!), and each company kicks in what they would have spent just on airfare, we’ll knock this out of the park.

The Goal: New Libraries and Study Spaces for 250 Children

The families in Likoni, Kenya don’t want their children’s future to be railroaded by their disadvantaged surroundings—and neither does the NamesCon community. Hope Children’s Centre Kenya School serves around 250 students but didn’t have any libraries for these children—until now. We built libraries for both the primary and secondary schools and will fully equip them with the textbooks and materials that the children need to tackle the Kenyan curriculum, as well as furnishings so these rooms can double as study spaces. As we reach the holiday season, construction is nearly complete.

Here’s a message from the Debuty Headteacher Mr. Kinyaika and some of the kids
