A Fireside Chat with Richard Lau, Jen Sale, and Andrew Rosener at NamesCon 2018

Keynote4 (1) 1000x350

01For one of the final keynotes of NamesCon 2018, NamesCon Founder Richard Lau joined Andrew Rosener (CEO of Media Options) and Jen Sale (Co-Founder and COO of Evergreen) to discuss cryptodomaining. It’s a fairly new concept in the world of domaining, where cryptocurrency meets domaining. Being some of the top brokers in the industry, Rosener and Sale brought some very interesting insight to the panel.

Sale made her first acquisition of a crypto name in 2013, while Rosener entered into the cryptodomaining world in 2014. Sharing how they sold their first cryptodomains, they also discussed trademark law, two- and three-letter names and their value, and how four-letter and longer names are now less universal.

When in comes to investing, Rosener believes that one might be “better off buying a lottery ticket.” Sale noted how popular crypto-related domain names are, with these types of deals closing very quickly. With that said, she has yet to take cryptocurrency as payment.
