Describe your company and how long you have been there.
Radix is a fully owned business unit within the Directi Group, and has the global, exclusive rights to nine new and exciting top-level domain extensions such as .TECH, .SPACE, .STORE, .ONLINE, .SITE, .WEBSITE, .PRESS, .HOST, and .FUN. I’ve been with the company for almost four years now.
What can attendees look forward to during your session?
The new TLD narrative is polarized; denouncers exaggerate its challenges, often jumping to conclusions and tend to write-off all new TLDs or categorically calling the program a failure. On the other hand many new TLD proponents, such as registries operating them, liberally use hyperboles and throw around registration and renewal numbers, which makes it increasingly difficult to take their claims seriously. There are vested interests on both sides, and there’s too much noise to sometimes make rational sense of things. So, I’m hoping we can use actual data and case studies to take an objective look at how the new TLDs are faring.
What are your thoughts on the new TLDs?
It is the inevitable evolution of the internet namespace. The fittest will survive.
What are you most looking forward to at the upcoming NamesCon?
Catching up with our friends from the industry.
How would you describe what you do in a single sentence to a stranger?
Manage internet’s most prime new real estate.
If you had 15 extra minutes each day, what would you do with them?
Get some headspace, clear mental clutter, meditate. I could do that with the current time I have, but it’s just a matter of discipline.
Who has been the biggest influence on your life? What lessons did that person teach you?
My father, too many lessons to list here.
Describe a recent challenge at work or in your personal life that you overcame?
I got married last month. Enough said.
Where is your favourite place to escape?
The wilderness! A recent short trip to the Rocky Mountains was therapeutic.
